Networking Night with Lily Sarafan-2016 Woman of the Year: Join us for a evening with Lily Sarafan, our 2016 Woman of the Year, honored at the annual WOTY gala on May 3rd. Learn about Lily's journey into Health Care leadership, the barriers she has had to overcome and her tips and tricks of the trade, with a Q&A portion at the end.

Design in Healthcare Panel: In the Bay Area, we are surrounded by companies that create products designed to improve people's lives and to delight their users. Why shouldn't the same be true in health care? At the same time, greater attention to design is a good investment--it can help healthcare providers keep apace in a quickly changing landscape that includes payment reform and digitization. Join Women Health Care Executives for an evening of refreshments and a panel discussion on using design to put the patient front and center. The panel will include leaders in all areas of the field of design in health care, from functional spaces and environments, to software, to services. These experienced professionals will each speak to how their area of expertise helps patients receive a better experience, and heal faster.

WHCE Spring Refresh Workshop: Join others in your WHCE community for a morning of brunch, sessions on financial planning and leading with purpose, and a professional makeup and headshot workshop.

CAHL-WHCE-Value Based Purchasing Panel Event: For the first time in history, the federal Department of Health and Human Services has set explicit goals for alternative payment models and value-based payments. Private payers are also on the same track. It remains to be seen how these changes will shape competition, quality, and other facets of health care services. In the next few years, even more payments will be tied to quality or value through programs such as the Hospital Value Based Purchasing and the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Programs. How can the health care industry adapt in a new era of payment models? What tools will they use to demonstrate value as well as avoid penalties? Please join your CAHL and WHCE colleagues for this opportunity to discuss a critical issue in the future of health care!

Making it Happen: Insights from the Field on Managing from the Middle
Just as the healthcare industry is under pressure to cut costs while also improving quality, middle managers must balance demands from above and below. Join WHCE for a panel discussion on the challenges and best practices of middle management in the healthcare field.  The panel will draw on their array of experiences to provide insights on how to be effective in this role.
